New American Village provides resources to citizens across the country that inspire and empower them to build strong, in-person communities in their own neighborhoods.
Our mission is to make every neighborhood in the United States a true, connected community.
New American Village is built on three observations:
- Human connectedness is the foundation of human flourishing at all levels – from personal, to local, to state and federal.
- Because of the way our society is shaped today, geographically, technologically, and culturally, the social support networks that traditionally formed in villages cannot be counted on to occur naturally. In some cases they are outright discouraged, even if unintentionally.
- Even with all the present hurdles, people still want connection and are ready to jump in to create it together.
New American Village focuses on the local community level because everyone is affected by the neighborhood in which they live and, most importantly, can have a measurable impact on their neighborhood.
